A Bronze Star for swimming heh? I wish mine had only been so easily
gotten. (Well "easily" isn't the correct word as I am sure you worked
very, very hard to get yours!)...

You asked my definition and I guess it's a little different for mine:

The Bronze Star Medal: A United States Armed Forces individual military
decoration and is the fourth highest award for bravery, heroism or
meritorious service, awarded to any person who distinguished himself or
HERSELF by heroic or meritorious achievement while engaged in an action
against an enemy of the United States while engaged in military
operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force in which
the United States is not a belligerent party.

(I am not in any way bragging that I have it by the way-I was drafted
pretty much-- because there are many, many others at the time that
deserved it much more than I, that never received it.)

You have a very, very sharp sword (eppe?) Mary, and never struck below
the belt, thanks!!I have bandaids and bandages all over and am lucky to
have survived this battle :)!! An excellent sparring partner indeed!!

And yes, you are correct Mary, life is precious and should be lived to
the fullest extent possible. All of the animals except for man know that
the principle business of life is to enjoy it. Just remember, as they
say, attack life, it's going to kill you anyway.

Hopefully ya will consider me a friend.
(Want my-one of-definition?)

A friend is one that hears the song in my heart and sings it to me when
my memory fails.

Weren't we talking about veggies??

I was actually for Life Saving.

Probably. It didn't seem like hard work though because I loved swimming.

Congratulations! I'm awed ... What campaign was it?

'Tis always thus. But they have to know about the others.

> You have a very, very sharp sword (eppe?)

No, we (the Fishers) are totally non combatant, we have longbows but they're
never used in anger. People see my tongue as my weapon but in fact it's more
about being a Yorkshirewoman where, as is well known, we don't call a spade
a spade, it's a bloody shovel. We don't shilly shally, we say what we think.
It's honesty, you always know where you are with us. If we say we don't like
something we don't.But if we say that we do like something you know that
it's a true opinion and not politeness.

I'm sorry if you feel wounded, it wasn't intended. Here, have a sip of cool
water and let me wipe your brow and give you a hug (that's the only role I
have on a battlefield).

Quite. But be prepared to suffer the blows it gives. Life isn't 'fair' (a
human demand), we weren't promised a rose garden. Or anything.

I consider you my friend.

I can't remember the tune ...

er - isn't it Thursday?

Thanks,

And gentle hugs, trying to avoid the bruises!

I guess the past years of my life are covered with the fragrance of many
different beautiful flowers, and the petals of georgeous roses, amongst
other flowers, lay along my path as compared to others less fortunate,
so I can be complacent with the sharp thorns during the last couple days
or years of my life.

Thanks for being my friend.
