Saturday I had my 9 month seizure. It comes like clock work now, a
seizure every 9-12 months. Can't complain though, still so much better
than before.
I love it when people ask me. You were asleep, how do you know you had
a seizure.

Hmmmm,
urine soaked sheets, hurt from head to foot, and sleep for 20 hrs. LOL

So how has it been going?

Chris,
Ya mentioned the "urine" in your seizures at night.
During all my seizures, and I have them mostly at night now, I never
have lost any bowel movements and was wondering if this is a normal
thing for seizure. I do know by the sweat covered sheets and the
soreness of my body as you mentioned. And of course the bites in my tongue.
I ain't wanting to find out the hard way, but am curious if anyone else
who has the seizures while asleep, pee or not.

Your're right, nine months is better than 9 days or 9 hours even.

Hope it's "9 Years" before your next one!
:)

I don't have loss of bladder control during a tonic clonic seizure, but I have
read that it can be a problem.  http://www.epilepsyidaho.org/seizure.htm

So sorry to hear about your seizure, Chris.  I can definitely relate to the
pain, exhausted feeling and the need to sleep.  On those nights that you have
had a seizure did you notice any feeling in expectation of a seizure?  I have
felt like I could have a seizure and I hate that feeling.  It's frightening
because you feel like you have no control.

Take care,
Julie

I have partial seizures, okay, and a lot of times when I was just
falling asleep I would have a seizure.  Didn't matter if it was a nap or
sleeping for the night.  Just jolted me awake from my sleep, and then
I'd immediately have the seizure.  Always was glad I was laying down
when that happened because those seizures seemed worse than the ones
when I was awake.  I didn't know, or feel, or wake up after that first
seizure until the next morning even though the portable EEG showed I was
having a lot more seizures during sleep than I knew about.  In the
morning though I'd feel more tired than when I went to bed.  Just bone
tired.  Usually then I couldn't make it through the day without a nap.
I can definitely see why people ask how we know we had a seizure during
sleep.  Lots of times I wasn't sure myself.

Barb,
My seizures changed after my surgery. Before hand I had mostly CP
seizures and could function with in a few minutes after one. About
1000-1200 a year. Now I have 1-2 a yr, at night but they are very long
and hard grand mal seizures. I used to be able to work through those
with a few hours sleep. Now I need a day plus to recoup.

So you get alot fewer seizures, but they are much more severe. Do you think
the surgery was worth it?
Mine was 7 weeks ago and no seizures yet...
