There used to be much more things that need reviewing.

I lost track of my files on them.

I hate to think where I might be without MHD.

There used to be people that listed a long list of
links.   The charter members of the group were posted
and a few are still around.

The people on MHD brought the need for control and
the large studies that say so much.

For me before that it was "Take your NPH once
a day and see me in three months.   Well the
result was leg burning pain that made me want
to die.

I believe the progress was prompted by patients
that embarrassing some docs.   I have made a few
very angry.  My health is mine, thank you.

You are not wrong there! No one cares as much about my health and limbs etc
except me. People should not just accept hwat a doctor says, they need to
educated themselves about their condition. Knowledge is power especially
with diabetes.

exactly, Jan

AND a diabetic has to be 51% of their diabetic team

i don't CARE if i challenge my GP and make him learn something new in
order to give me the BEST treatment FOR ME

what scares me is the diabetics who go home and expect 'this pill' to
'fix them' and nothing else has to be changed (seen it too often here!
pretty scary)

sigh

The breakdown of MY diabetic team is - 45% me, 45% the Internet (including
MHD and ASD), and the remaining 10% - my doctor.

Having said that, I would not recommend that to any newbie, especially a
newbie unfamilliar with the ways of the Internet and the need to modify
their lifestyle. In those cases the doctor should be the first step.

Sadly I have to agree. I strongly suspect my doctor could be a lot
better if her hands weren't so tied by accountants though. I pass on
some of what I've learnt here to her. If she was to use it though she
might lose her job.

It's always good to run your doctor's advice against other folks'
opinions though, sometimes they are clueless or wildly out of date,
sometimes they are limited in what they are permitted to do, sometimes
they are excellent.

It kinda reminds me of a visit to my Doctor last week.  I
mentioned that I had had a huge helping of Apple Pie.  He didn't
get mad, he merely announced that he was glad, now he could get
that new car he wanted.

My brother in law used to work at a Magneto Hydro Dynamics facility in
Montana.
