The common knowledge is that carbs that progress further down into the
intestine reach an area where the gas producing bacteria are active.
Then you may have problems,  It is an individual thing.

One of the properties of Metaformin is that it slows the
absorption of carbs  the intestine.  This is a positive
as far as slowing rise of blood sugars.
,
Some types of sugars are more slowly absorbed in the intestine
They as sold a an aid to diabetics.  That is questionable.

The best bet is a doctor that deals with a lot of diabetes.
He/She should have been dealing with this problem

It slows the aborption?  I didn't know that.  I thought it was for insulin
resistance!  If it slows absorption then it doesn't sound like it is a med I
should be on, given the gastroparesis.  Hmmm...

I was told by an ER room doctor that said
his roommate had worked ed on tests
on Metaformin.

IN retrospect I started to have 911 type
hypos about a week after I was put on metaformin.

I went "out" one evening after a lot of food.  The
kitchen was a mess as I grabbed every thing sweet I could find.

The medics found me unconscious.

I was profane in the emergency room because I knew it was not from the
lack of oral glucose input.

The ER doc came in and asked a few questions and left.

He came back in a few minutes and verified I was on metaformin.
He asked if I knew how it worked.

He said is roommate had worked on the drug and it
delayed the absorption of glucose from the intestine
and it inhibited the release of glucose from
the liver.

My wife said my eyes lit up.

For over ten years now I am prone to have hypos
but manage most of the time to avoid them. Glucose
tablets are a must if I go out.

I was always a older T1, not a T2.  Reason I push more doc tests.

From the way we are going, Metaformin  may be the sole
drug for insulin resistance.   Most people can us it.

I just wish the money grubbers were made to
be honest on all drugs.

I do take one dangerous drug because it is the lesser
of evils.   It is my choice.
