Hi;
A very close friend of mine has Diabetic Neuropathy in her left leg and
she receives monthly two full day treatments of IVIG. I've been reading
up on IVIG and I cannot see how this form of treatment will help the
effects of the neuropathy. Has anyone here any experience they would
like to share with me?
Also, does anyone have any other forms of treatments they are currently
using to control or diminish the effects of the Neuropathy?
Thanking you in advance, all insight would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what IVIG is.
However, over the past year or so, a few medications have been approved
for treating diabetic neuorpathy. Cymbalta, Neurontin, and Lyrica.
I've tried each of them, with varying results. None totally take it
away, but they each helped. Lyrica was the most effective for myself.

Hi Trish,
I myself have not heard of this treatment and do not know of anyone using it.
I looked it up and could not find out what is done. All I know is that this
treatment is for one of the autoimmune diseases, diabetes, the neuropathy.
Does she get any relief? Like the other poster, she named some meds for this
neuropathy. I take Neurontin as I have it in both hands. It does not take all
the pain go away but it is bearable now. I would imagine that therapy is more
(maybe not) expensive than meds.
