As some of you here know I have been struggling with my diagnosis. Am I
really diabetic, or merely glucose intolerant?
My endocrinologist has given me a new series of tests, something called
anti-glutamic acid decarboxylase anti-bodies and anti-IA2. These are, I
seem to remember from what the endocrinologist told me, supposed to detect
late onset type 1. The results came back today, and they are normal.
My last HbA1c, done on 20 January, was 5.6. In fact, I have never had one
over 6.
I am supposed to have a GTT as well, but have waited to schedule it until I
got the other results back.
Anyone who has comments on the above, I'd love to see them. Some of you
guys are really knowledgeable, and I value your opinions.

Good news! No worries about losing your remaining beta cells in a hurry.

That will then rule T2-ness in or out. The results are a sliding scale, with
normal at one end, T2 at the end, and IGT in the middle.
