The minor pain that had started in my foot a few months ago blew up into
something that sent me to an orthopedic surgeon. He diagnosed a trapped
nerve in the heel, similar Tarsal Tunnel syndrome (like carpal tunnel
but in the foot.)
It's a bitch, but that's another thread.
I'm just wondering if this is another goodie more common among people
with diabetes, like frozen shoulder, or something else.
Since I can't tolerate cortisone shots, he pretty much just told me to
ice it and use a heel cup. He gave me "that" look when I explained that
cortisone shots send my pulse rate up to 120 for a week. But they do.
It's in my medical records, and my Sweetie, who knows the doctor
socially is going to set him straight. He got to live through that week.

i sure hope it's not diabetes related because my
mother suffers from it and she needed specific
splints made to fit ALL of her shoes (not a cheap
undertaking)
she still limps from it after too much use of the
foot....... and that's not a heck of a lot........
a simple grocery trip will leave her in pain
i hope you find complete recovery and quickly!

It is more common among those with metabolic syndrome (aka MetS or IGT)
who will have higher than normal levels of serum insulin.
