That is funny! Last time I was in McDonalds (last Sat.), I noticed signs
and banners up all over the place about healthy food options and the like.
But when I perused their menu, I didn't see much difference. They do now
allow kids to have a 100% juice box instead of a soft drink, but since
Angela drinks diet Coke, this didn't mean much to me.
I did notice that many of the employees were in a tizzy though. They were
studying some pamphlets about food nutrition. They were discussing portion
sizes and what goes into the food. Not sure if there are real changes afoot
or if this is just another marketing ploy to lure people in. I did not
notice these pamphlets being available to the public. I also didn't ask
because the two women who were manning the counter have trouble putting
together the right order on a good day and I didn't want to confuse them.
They were very busy.
I went to their website last night. What a tangled web of confusion! They
no longer list a menu. You can get the nutritional values of the various
foods, but you get these huge list you have to sort through and they're in
no apparent order. I wonder if they are making real changes or if this is
just a smoke screen? They also make mention of some sort of thing for kids
that implied good nutrition. But when I looked at it, it was something you
could buy in video or DVD format.
