It seems like a waste to be throwing away this bottle of
Humalog. I opened it 28 days ago though so I guess it's
almost time.. but it's still mostly full.
I am on meds, but am supposed to take insulin if my bg
rises above 200.. (it has only done this once in the past
2 weeks.)
Does anyone know if it is possible to buy smaller vials
anywhere?

Humalog is available in pens.  The pen takes a 300 unit (3 cc) cartridge.

Novolog is available in a 300 unit (3 cc)  pre-filled, disposable pen.

 I keep my 10 cc vials of Humalog in the refrigerator whenever I am not
using them.

I  have used a vial for 6 weeks with no loss of potency.

why would you throw it out?  I have had humalog and novolog that
lasted a hell of a lot longer than 28 days.  Only Lantus is that time
sensitive.
