I just changed my sig line to "controlling by exercise and diet," rather
than "diet and exercise." I did this because, while diet is probably more
important, exercise has become a very important part of my program since I
added strength training last summer. I seem to be focusing more on it
lately. My average FBG has gone down about 10 points since I started the
training, with no dietary changes. In fact, truth be known, I probably ate
a few more carbs than usual during the holiday season, yet none of my BG
readings were elevated.
I go to the gym every other day and it takes about 30-45 minutes. I only
have time to do one rep. Those in the know say that at some point I'll need
to increase to 2 reps which will increase my time, but I'll cross that
bridge when I come to it.

One rep or one set ? A set is a number of reps, one rep is one
repetition...the only reason to increase the amount of work you do is to
makes gains (more muscle, more strength) otherwise you can maintain.

Instead of doing more of an exercise type, increase the resistence of it.
Or, you can just stay where you are to maintain the benefits of exercise
on insulin resistence.
