My chlosterol was fine 8 months ago with a total of 182   hdl of 84
and triglicerides of 113.
Well after a double hernia repair I lost about 30 lbs then rapidly put
this weight back on. During
this rapid weight gain I did use some insulin along with the Byetta I
was already using. Well
I am back on a good food plan lost a few of those lbs I put on but my
chlosterol is now 190 total with a HDL of 38 !   Could this all be the
result of that rapid weight gain  be the cause of
my HDL falling from 84 to 38 ?

Postsurgical weight loss is likely from cachexia, which results in
largely loss of muscle.

In the setting of Byetta, it is likely that the rapid weight gain was
largely VAT (black fat).

The low HDL is suboptimal.

Most likely due to gaining more black fat.

The only way to lose the VAT is by becoming hungrier (healthier) by
eating less, down to the right amount.

May you and other dear neighbors, friends, and brethren have a
blessedly wonderful 2008th year since the birth of our LORD Jesus
Christ as the Son of Man ...

... by being hungrier:

Hunger is wonderful ! ! !

It's how we know what GOD desires, which is all that is good.

Yes, hunger is our knowledge of good versus evil that Adam and Eve
paid for with their and our immortal lives.

"Blessed are you who hunger NOW...

... for you will be satisfied." -- LORD Jesus Christ (Luke 6:21)

Amen.

Here is a Spirit-guided exegesis of Luke 6:21 given in hopes of
promoting much greater understanding:

Be hungry... be healthy... be hungrier... be euglycemic...

That is terrible especially for a diabetic...

... it means you may rarely be euglycemic.

> because i have a completely satisfied life

Most diabetics would be dissatisfied with not being euglycemic,

May we, who are Christians, continue to pray for your perishing soul,

What was your diet and physical activity level back then?
