I messed up my User Profile and lost all my bookmarks. Would someone please
post Alan's and Jenny's for starters? Thanks.

If you want more, here are the ones that I've saved.  You might want to
look at them and decide which ones you also want.

If you use Firefox

go get Backupfox or Mozbackup (or both) then USE THEM! <G>

About half my firefox bookmarks disappeared just before the
trip. Is there a way to resurrect those? A bak file or
similar somewhere?

Depends if you BACKED THEM UP!!!

Actually there are probably some concealed, try

documents and settings\username\application
data\mozilla\firefox\profiles

mine seems to keep about five days backups (didn't know that before
until I just looked) it may be too late for you though, sorry

next time.

You can change it to any number of days you want. I find a month much
more convenient, because there are some things I use every month, but
often only once a month. That backup is what it uses for
auto-completion of a half-typed URL.

DAMN, I'm impressed by people who read the helpfiles <G>

I never bothered to find that out before because every so often I
export all my bookmarks onto a different disk, and every so less often
I back up the entire kit and caboodle which avoids losing all the
other carefully concealed but useful things like the cookies that tell
you what page you were reading on forums and all your passwords that
you forgot.

Firefox actually has a page where it's stored all your passwords!
wonderful thing. Tools->Options->Security->show passwords. I hope my
kids never find it...

They will now . . .

. . . yes that was one I already knew but once forgot to back up and

again

As you type a new URL Firefox offers you a selection of those recently
used which started the same way in a drop down list.
