I still haven't heard back from my Dr. but was finally able to reach the
nurse this morning.  She also hasn't heard from him, despite calling
frequently.  Grrr...

Meanwhile, I developed a killer headache on the ride side of my head, with
pain going down into the neck and feel really sick to my stomach.  This
started up after lunch yesterday.

I had promised to take Angela for Mexican food, but that didn't sound
appealing when the time came.  The place was packed what with it being Cinco
De Mayo and all.  But we are regulars there and they make us special meals.
The waiter just ushered us to our table and brought us our usual.  I felt
like if I ate any though, I was going to puke.  Wait staff kept coming by
and asking me if something was wrong with the food.  I forced myself to eat
three bites and then high tailed it for home after making a super quick stop
at the store for a couple of things I was out of.

Upped my insulin again last night and had a bit of cereal before bed because
I worried that maybe this would be the time I got a hypo.  Not so.  I did
wake up to 208 which is the lowest fasting number I've seen in a while.

I still feel like a swear word and didn't sleep well last night, having had
a really bizarre dream about one of the posters here.  In the dream, he
looked and sounded like Buck Owens.  It was too weird for words.  Luckily,
my alarm woke me from that one.

The nurse thinks I just have something that is going around and that this is
not related to the Lantus.  And Angela might have it too.  She didn't eat
much dinner last night and said this morning she felt like she was going to
throw up, but she didn't want to miss school.  I just hope I don't have to
go pick her up because all I want to do is head back to bed.

Not being hungry is terrible.

May GOD bless you and Angela in HIS mighty way, thereby making you
healthier (hungrier) than ever, in Jesus' awesome name.

Amen.

Hey, I do look like Buck Owens!

Disentangling cause from effect - are my bg's high because I'm sick,
or do I feel sick because my bg's are high? - is hard for me to do
sometimes.

You might want to very strongly remind your nurse that being sick is
not an excuse for not maintaining good bg's. In fact being sick is a
good reason to keep your bg's on an even keel...

Hey, I do look like Buck Owens!

Heh!  I'm not telling who it was.

That too.  I just wasn't sure if this might have been a side effect of the
Lantus, but I guess not.

There's not much the nurse can do.  She is baffled by me and can't figure
out why the Lantus isn't working.  However from what I have read about it, I
am still on a very low dose.  27 units.  She is afraid to give me more for
fear of hypo.

I can't tell.  The dream was so weird and twisted, I could never look this
person in the eye again if I did.  Not that I ever did to begin with!
Ozgirl - 06 May 2008 23:50 GMT
Time to really press the issue with whoever answers the phone.

Now who is the person you dreamed about?? I must know! lol.

You could have migraine re the headache.

The nurse cannot judge if you have something and therefore it can't be the
Lantus. You have had the high bg's from the start of Lantus. You really need
to get pushy here. Extended high bg's will do damage, you already have /or
had a problem with proteinuria (too lazy to find correct spelling).

The problem is, they weren't answering.  I was just getting voice mail.

> Now who is the person you dreamed about?? I must know! lol.

I can't tell but it was someone with type 1.  Hehehe.

> You could have migraine re the headache.

Maybe, but it doesn't seem like what I've had before that I thought was
migraine.

I know that and she knows that but she says she feels helpless.  I wasn't
expecting anything to happen today because the Dr. is only in, in the
morning and never returns calls on Tues.  But if I have not heard by Thu., I
will try calling him myself.  Not that I usually get anywhere by doing that.
*sigh*

He was a country western singer on an old show called Hee Haw.

No idea why it was him.  I am not a lover of country western music.  But I
generally only have these really bizarre dreams when I am really sick or
having a side effect from a med.

Crikey. At least he's not ugly.

When I have dreams the subjects tend to be female. Same when
I have nightmares:-)

Yeah, but now I can't shake that image.  On the show, he did duets with this
other guy...I think it was Roy somebody or other.  One would say, "I'm a
pickin'" and the other would say, "And I'm a grinnin!"  And then "Hee hee
hee hee haw haw haw!"

You're speaking of Roy Clark:

Buck.  But I keep thinking of that song now that he sang with Roy.

Ok, just googled images, can't say I know him. I also can't marry his image
with an ASD member, although Tim has made admissions. :)

Hopefully, you'll be lucky and it'll just be a bug - once around the family
and gone tomorrow. Not that the family getting sick is something to hope
for, but you know what I mean. Good luck.

Okay.  I will.  Hehe.

I feel somewhat better.  Not totally.  And I seem to need a lot of water, so
perhaps am dehydrated as well.  Am trying a new Vegan Southwestern burger
patty tonight.  Black beans and assorted seeds and veggies.  26g of carb,
but 9 g fiber.  Am hoping my stomach can take it.  Smells wonderful!
