Why didn't you specify that researchers speculate the risk.
A speculation means no more than an unprovable idea.

Actually, there's plenty of links between the kind of plaque that
causes Alzheimer's, and the kind we get that stops our beta cells
regenerating (T2s). Yet another reason to eat a low-spike, low
inflammatory diet, IMO. They never do these studies on people who have
decent control...

They like to call it "evidence based medicine". I prefer to think of
it as "herd medicine". The herd doesn't do good control.
