The effects of lemon flavonoids, as crude flavonoids prepared from lemon juice, were investigated in diabetic rats. The oxidative stress of eriocitrin (eriodictyol 7-O-beta-rutinoside) and hesperidin (hesperetin 7-O-beta-rutinoside) on streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats was investigated. Diabetic rats were given a diet which contained 0.2% crude flavonoids, 0.2% eriocitrin, and 0.2% hesperidin. After the 28-d feeding period, the concentration of the thiobarbituric acid- reactive substance in the serum, liver, and kidney of diabetic rats administered crude flavonoids, eriocitrin, and hesperidin significantly decreased as compared with that of the diabetic group. The levels of 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine, which is exchanged from deoxyguanosine owing to oxidative stress, in the urine of diabetic rats administered eriocitrin and hesperidin significantly decreased as compared with that of the diabetic rat group. Crude flavonoids, eriocitrin, and hesperidin suppressed the oxidative stress in the diabetic rats. These results demonstrated that dietary lemon flavonoids of eriocitrin and hesperidin play a role as antioxidant in vivo.

Mr-Natural-Health - 02 Apr 2008 11:58 GMT STOP Posting Garbage from PubMed!
Your garbage has absolutely nothing to do with either science or the Scientific Method.
It is pretty pathetic when an advocate of Natural Health knows more about the scientific method, researching PubMed, and the art of communication than the current crop of science Geeks currently posting on these so-called science ngs do.
Postings straight from PubMed are only interesting when they are being used to support a point being made by a poster.
The wholesale dumping of abstracts from PubMed without preceding each posting with a clearly articulated statement being presented by a poster is a total waste of bandwidth, is an irritation, is nothing but SPAM, Garbage, Crap, or any other totally negative connotation that anybody might want to call it.
It positively ain't science. It is just pure laziness on your part, with a good amount of mushy thinking skills thrown in.
I am not your Mommy, children. I know how to research PubMed. I am glad that you know, too. But unless you explicitly point out the conclusions that you are trying to make, I really do not to care to see your crap floating in the science ng toilet bowl.
Please Science Geeks, learn to flush the toilet after each use.
Ironjusice, Jesus and Science used in the same sentence is an oxymoron.
Just thought that you Dumb-a.ses might want to know, that I know more about the scientific method than you do.

Just so you don't mistake the rest of us, pretty much everyone here knows rusty is a moron. We try to ignore him; many people have him killfiled.

I don't consider myself to be a dumbass, thank you, and resent being lumped in with whoever you have decided is stupider than you. Shelley - 03 Apr 2008 10:40 GMT My apologies for missing the fact that this nitwit crossposts his nonsense to multiple groups. I am posting from the MS group, but assume others are just as bored with this fellow as I.

I feel for the people who use WebTV or other systems that don't allow them to block anything.

> So, thank you for proving me right. :) The only thing that has been proven, is that some dumbass (that would be you) cross-posted a 'shotgun' attack to multiple groups, without setting a 'Followup-To:' header to one, appropriate group, thereby firing off all responses to all of the named groups.
Why you even included asms, other than sheer ignorance, is beyond me. You claim superiority, even though the most *lame*, *insignificant*, *half-hearted* attempt to research this group, would have shown you that the *only* one rampantly posting abstracts in, or cross-posted to, this group, is iron-boy.
Oh, wait, I'm sorry, you *did* prove something else. You *did* prove *yourself*, with your response, above, to be in the same category as iron-boy. I guess that explains it, huh?
What a dumbass.
Note: Followup has been set to the appropriate group.

Michael B - 03 Apr 2008 11:34 GMT For you, that likely already knows this:
100 grams of cricket contains: 121 calories, 12.9 grams of protein, 5.5 g. of fat, 5.1 g. of carbohydrates, 75.8 mg. calcium, 185.3 mg. of phosphorous, 9.5 mg. of iron, 0.36 mg. of thiamin, 1.09 mg. of riboflavin, and 3.10 mg. of niacin.
Compare this with 100 grams of ground beef, which, although it contains more protein (23.5 g.), also has 288.2 calories and a whopping 21.2 grams of fat!
