Finding it increasingly difficult to find Humulin R in my area. Tried
a couple of Wal Marts and no go. In fact, after being told by
pharmacist would order some found out today the Wal Mart's in my area
no longer can get it. I also tried a local discount grocery chain and
also found they do not carry it anymore. Have a national drug store
chain to try next but get feeling it ain't going to be available for
much longer? Is Lilly trying to drive all it's diabetic business to
Humalog. I did use Humalog for a year and found it worked quite
well. Problem being the cost!
I have minimal drug coverage which still made the Humalog twice as
much as Humulin. I guess it will drive me to the Reli -On insulin
which i didn't really want to at this point. Just something about
that insulin makes me think generic.
I guess we don't have any protection from drug companies limiting our
choice of insulin to just one kind?

it's the pharmacies that are no longer stocking Humulin R
Lilly still makes it
order your insulin a few days in advance, and the pharmacy most likely
will be able to get it in for you

Well DUH
since when did WalMart regularly stock it? mot for many years.
They carry Novolin "R" for about half the price as Humalin, so WHY would
they stock it?

I do use walmart becsause of costs. I was on
a prescription that cost seversl hundred dollar
a month. The drffist at WQalart refered meto a
special program that reduced the cost greatly.
The point is they recommended some thing
that reduced their revenue.
