Botulism doesn't help gastric emptying

Botulinum Toxin A No Better Than Placebo for Delayed Gastric Emptying

Intrapyloric injection of botulinum toxin A (BoNT/A) is not superior
to placebo for the treatment of delayed gastric emptying, according to
study findings published in the February issue of the American Journal
of Gastroenterology. [MORE]

I guess I'm not suprised -- why would they even think that a paralytic
toxin would help an already underactive / delayed system?  But
according to this, there are docs still perscribing botox for delayed
gastric emptying.  Off label.
