I'm just as pleased as can be. over the past three months, I relaxed
my vigilance a little, and expected my A1C to rise somewhat. I went
for the blood work last Friday, and to the doctor this morning. He
asked what I thought my A1C was. I said that it would be higher than
it was in December (5.1), but still significantly under 6.

It was 5.1.

Well done Oleg! I'd love to join you, but I'm too lazy
sometimes:-)

Nice to see.

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Outstanding!!! I am still working hard to get mine to that level. Have had
an infection/flu the past week or so and it has my numbers jacked, and I'm
getting a little peeved, because I was so proud of the
accomplishment...hehehe

Anyway, keep up the good work, and keep on showing that nay sayers in the
group are wrong...:)

Yes notice how they never seem to notice the success rate here. And
NEVER congratulate anyone.

Just a handy place to hang this...

Thanks to all for the encouraging words. It's good to have advice and
pointers to research and news articles, but what really makes this
forum worthwhile is the support.

Indeed. As I have said many times, what I did wouldn't have been possible
without the support of Lynn, and the people here.

G'day G'day Larry,

Well done.   A 5.1 is excellent as I'm sure you're well aware.

"Relaxing vigilance" is an interesting phrase. It could mean all sort
of different things to different people.  Perhaps you've eaten foods
you didn't eat back in December.  Perhaps you've done less exercise.
Perhaps you've just been feeling more relaxed.  Stress releases
cortisol like compounds and these can push up blood glucose levels.
So being relaxed could actually help bring them down.  Whatever.
The essential point is that your A1c was excellent and is likely to
remain so, so long as you don't get careless.

Best wishes and congratulations.
Success encourages others to succeed.

When I say I relaxed my vigilance a little, I mean to say that I did
not test as often, because I felt that I had quite a good handle on my
tolerance for various foods, both in timing and portion sizes. I have
also started treating myself to some things that I would not eat at
all back in December, but now feel confident enough, and have enough
will power to strictly limit portions, to eat them occasionally.

>Best wishes and congratulations.

Thanks.

>Success encourages others to succeed.

I think you're right.
