Sorry, l mean Loretta, l am fond of you as well but for a different reason, Your name has several meanings to me, Dorthy and the Wizard, Black Sabbath, my departed Diabetic husbands favorite group. No More Tears by Ozzy Osbourne was what he listened to on his death bed. l suspect the true meaning has something to do with Australia. Nothing personal. Sorry, Kathy

Yes it is to do with Australia, the other Oz. Loretta is still around, she is emailing jokes, she too often takes breaks from the group.

It turned out to be glandular fever, not tonsillitis and I now have virus after virus and feeling like crap!
My good diet is out of the window as I have no real appetite, my numbers are all over the place, with good ol' liver dumps, I'm working but have no energy, and basically need to ride this out until I am in a place where I can get my true pro-active stance back on track.
Sanity and reason dont seem to be getting thro to a few here, so I stopped wasting my breath trying to ask people to just not rise to the antagonistic retorts going on here and there. People will do whatever they want to do, regardless of the outcome. For some, its built in to try and *win* constantly. Tiresome, but true.
I did have a sense of humour, but its a little frayed at the mo. I'm sure I'll perk up eventually!
And you, Kathy - wow, YOU! You have done amazing things these last few weeks - do you know that???? I do............ :)))))

So you really have been to hell and back! Glandular fever sucks big time. Hope you don't get the extended chronic fatigue that often goes with it.

I dont know if its the constant barrage of flu-like symptoms holding me back or the dreaded CFS! I can get out of bed in the morning and can tackle the day, just low from the snots and dribbles and talking as if I have a marble or two in my mouth LOL
Thanks for the response tho!! Most appreciated :)))

I'm sorry to hear that Helen. You seem to have had quite a time with the bouts of illness, and I hope you're feeling much better soon. I'm sure once you're feeling better, the rest will follow. Take care.

: Ozgirl mentioned chronic fatigue and I think I have been lucky on that : score - dont seem to be dragging my feet - just snotty! LOL sorry to hear of yur problems, Helen. I had something like that several years ago. I called it "the flu from hell." Te really sick time , with fevers, etc tht didn't resppond to any meds I wa given lasted over 6 weeks, then it wa sseveral months of extreme tiredness adn inablility to do much at all. Good news is that I havn't had it agian. It was a year when I somehow missed my fle shot. don't know if it was connected, but I am sure to get a sot every year now.

Helen Back - 07 Mar 2008 09:53 GMT > : > Helen Back wrote in message ... > : > [quoted text clipped - 30 lines] > > Wendy Hi Wendy - just seen your response, sorry! Luckily I dont seem to be feeling any chronic tiredness so I am hoping that nothing too debiliating will arise from my glandular thing! But yeah, the constant barrage of flu- like symptoms has made me emotionally low at times.
I've read that once you get glandular fever, you cant get it again but can be left with a bug that lays around in the system, usually for 4-10 weeks, but cant last for up to a year. This bug causes the chronic fatigue and stomach aches and other bothersome symptoms.
I was convinced it was the flu-jab that gave me this, because I usually dont suffer from any colds or flu. My children can get them, friends can get them and I seem to miss them all - but not this time!!!! As someone here said, it could simply be down to my knocked hormone system.
Either way, this is the second day I've felt better (one blocked sinus and that's it!), so am hoping I am coming to the end of it.
Thanks, Wendy :)))
