Presentation: A 59-year-old white female with type 2 diabetes presents
for a checkup for the first time in over a year. She returns to her
physician to get refills on her antihyperglycemic agents. Currently,
her diabetes is treated with sulfonylurea (SU) therapy, and she is not
self-monitoring her plasma glucose. It has been 14 months since she
last visited her clinician's office, at which time her A1C was 7.7%.
She denies any symptoms of hyperglycemia, including blurry vision,
polydipsia, polyuria, or fatigue.

Comment:

It is our collective clinical experience that when type-2 diabetic
patients are not given parameters that allow them to be pro-actively
involved in the decision-making that utilizes fasting blood glucose
measurements to determine whether antihyperglycemic agents should be
held to avoid hypoglycemic attacks, that the above non-optimal
presentation typically happens.

This is why the diabetic 2PD-OMER Approach requires such parameters
from the supervising physician.

It remains smart for a diabetic to eat less, down to the right amount.

Online CME ?

Is there a geographical reason you do not attend CME in person?

Don't most professionals use continuing ed as an opportunity to
interact with peers?

Let us know what your "grade" is

Certainly Chung is unique and without peers  - who else would have the
following:

Oscar Mayer today announced a special hot dog for Dr. Chungs's 2 Pound
Puppy Approach. They plan to use real dogs as the source of the
filling for the hot dogs so it will really be a hot dog.

Frank Footer of Oscar Mayer said they plan to offer the tiny wieners
in one ounce size so do not need a scale.

In honor of Dr. Andrew B. Chung, they plan to call them "Andy's Tiny
Weinnies"

Why are you paranoid??  Do you ever cite anyone but yourself??

I am rehabing a broken leg and have found this more entertaining (and
at some level disturbing ) than tv.

If you are seeing patients how do you have this much time on the
internet?

Well, he often cites "our collective clinical experience".

Elwood P. Dowd had his Harvey, Andrew B. Chung has his "our".
