This is why Barack Obama is the man to vote for, as a young black man
who grew up in the violent urban ghetto, he alone has a unique
perspective regarding the violence perpetrated with illegal guns.
Here are five points that Mr. Obama addresses at the link above and my
endorsement of those positions.

1. Keeping all guns out of inner cities

This is a no-brainer.  Everyone who lives in such areas knows that gun
violence is a way of life.  Every city that has a population exceeding
100,000 loses nearly 1% of that population every year to illegal
gunfire.  IMO, this does not go far enough, an across the board ban is
necessary to eliminate the skyrocketing gun violence crime rate that
has been plaguing the United States.

2. Ban all forms of semi-automatic weapons

There is no legitimate use for any gun that automatically chambers
round after round so that you can fire as quickly as the finger can
squeeze them out.  All these military machine guns are good for is
toting a bunch of them up into an observation tower and opening fire
on innocent neighborhoods.  Millions of these machine guns are sold
every year to people who go on shooting rampages.  Anyone who doesn't
surrender their machine guns should be jailed, all their assets
seized.  We need to crack down hard on these violent people who
disobey the law.

3. Increase restrictions on other firearms

There should be a 100% tax on all new gun purchases as well as yearly
licensing fees based on 100% of the original purchase price (or
current assessed value) whichever is higher.  This will force gun
huggers to pay the price for their violence and the violence of their
gun hugging buddies, the funds will be used to build prisons and
supply dollars to legal funds for suing manufacturers and the families
of criminals who commit gun crimes.  A person applying for a gun
permit should also be required to pay for their own background
investigation and every new and seperate purchase needs to have a new
and seperate background investigation followed by yearly followup
investigations.

4. Require all guns to be child proofed

If a gun cannot be effectively child proofed then it needs to be
banned.  One dead child is one too many, the ridiculous
misinterpretation of the Second Amendment by gun huggers be damned.

5. Continue to insure that manufactures are sued for gun crime

The levy that should be imposed under item number 3 should help fund
lawsuits against gun manufacturers.  When a company like Colt or
Remington produce a gun, they know that there is a chance that gun
could be used in a crime and that makes them complicit and an
accessory.  Every single time a gun crime is committed, the
manufacturer should be sued, the gun lobby should be sued, and the
family of the perpetrator should be sued.

You can save yourselves the pain of all this now and relent to having
guns banned.  If there are no guns, there are no gun crimes, and there
is no need to sue you for being a proponent of violence.

Barack Obama '08 - no more guns in America

Are you saying black people can't be trusted with firearms?  Isn't
this a tad ... "racist"?

> 2. Ban all forms of semi-automatic weapons

Just like we banned drugs.  Yep, here's a sure fire winning idea, eh?

> 3. Increase restrictions on other firearms

You guys can't let the peasants resist, let alone have any say, in
what's about to be done to them.

> 4. Require all guns to be child proofed

Are you going to ban pools?  Bicycles? Trampolines?  Any other items
that can kill kids, or just guns? Just guns, eh?  Sounds like there's
a plan in the works you people know we won't like but don't want us to
resist.  What would that be?  Certainly not freedom.

> 5. Continue to insure that manufactures are sued for gun crime

Then let's sue Ford and Chevrolet for drunk driving accidents. Let's
sue Toyota for speeding problems. We'll also get rid of pencil makers
as a way to keep people from making spelling mistakes.

"Relent"?  You actually used this word in a discussion with free men?

No guns = no rights = no sh.t.

Thank you for a post that is a exquisite example of the liberal
fascism about to rammed down our throats.

Time for another case of .308.

A revolver also can "fire as quickly as the finger can squeeze them out".

Should revolvers be banned as well?
