Not too far off from what I eat.  The salmon recipe looks good and
I'll give it a try.  Thanks.

It's the breakfast I am wondering about.

Same here. I eat a similar menu except the breakfast. Breakfast is
typically an omelette (sometimes with real eggs, sometimes with
eggbeaters, sometimes a mix) with ham or turkey or whatever leftover
is in the fridge and then a cup of coffee when I get to work.

I've frequently lamented the use of the term "low-carb"
without definition.  Now it has been defined--as 46% of
calories from carbohydrates ?!?!?

I wouldn't call that low carb at all.

For the example given, it works out to 180g carb per day, which is not
particularly low-carb in my book.

Guess it depends on what you're comparing it to though.  If this were a
change from a diet of doughnuts for breakfast, a sub for lunch and pizza
for dinner, it's relatively low-carb.

IMO, the breakfast in particular is impossible; I'd have to shoot 20+
units of Novolog and still probably be high - cereal, fruit *and* juice.
For *breakfast* yet - I'd be lucky to get my bg into a sane range
before the next day!

That breakfast doesn't seem low carb.  A cup of yogurt, 1/2 cup of fruit,
3/4 cup cereal AND 6 oz. or orange juice?

I might be able to do the cereal or maybe the fruit (if my stomach were up
to it).  Not sure what the carb count of yogurt is.  Never liked the stuff
and can't eat it now with my food allergies.

Lunch seems fairly low carb, although they say to use diet dressing and that
can be pretty high in carbs.  They also call for 2 T. dried cranberries.
Here you can get unsweetened ones in the fall only, and only at one store
that I've seen.  Most are sweetened.

And then dinner.1/2 cup of brown rice and a whole grain roll?  How is that
low carb?

I don't think it is, just their perception of it.

That's NOT low carb, it's low fat and protein.
