It remains wiser to eat less, down to the optimal amount, in order to
become healthier (hungrier) in order to lose the VAT, cure the insulin
resistance (IR/MetS) and possibly also cure type-2 diabetes:

Hunger is wonderful :-)
It's how we know what GOD wants, which is what is good.
Yes, hunger is our knowledge of good versus evil that Adam and Eve
paid for with their and our immortal lives.
However, there are crazy folks, who have rejected this knowledge and
are perishing as predicted by the prophecy of 2 Thessalonians
2:9-11...

Pathetic repetitive response. You either do not understand what you
did or do not have the decency to apologize.

This is what you call a 'bot' boys and girls.
It's programmed to generate a selected (repetitive) response whenever
people on the troll's convicted/demon list post anything.
It's a favorite tool of the troll trade.

No. This is simply a rebuke, satan.
Bottom line:
You remain a liar.

If the first one did not stop a troll like Chung, this one should.

So where the heck is it on the ADA site? I took 8 clicks to give up...
The blogs are fun this morning - Regina Wiltshire links to a few.

The 2008 Standards of Care are not posted yet--it is a supplement to
the Jan 2008 issue of Diabetes Care, available at
http://care.diabetesjournals.org/cgi/content/full/31/Supplement_1/S12
with a $30 subscription or a $12 per article fee.
The 2007 Standards are the ones available on the ADA site--click on
the button "For Health Professionals and Scientists." Unclear when
that will be updated, although we have asked on the ADA board for that
information.
One interesting thing in the reports about this change is that they
refer to a low carb diet being a good choice, as is a low calorie
diet, for losing weight. But they do not explicitly mention the
relation between low carb diets and blood glucose levels. Whether that
is a weakness of the press release or the Standards of Care themselves
can only be answered by looking carefully at the paper itself.
Anyone who has a sub can read it now--if that is you, can you let us
know what it says?

The article, and the ADA position, pretty much says what some of us
have been saying in this newsgroup about not being bullied into any
weight loss plan, but to work with your health care team to find a
plan that is best suited to your individual needs.
"The evidence is clear that both low-carbohydrate and low-fat calorie
restricted diets result in similar weight loss at one year. We're not
endorsing either of these weight-loss plans over any other method of
losing weight. What we want health-care providers to know is that it's
important for patients to choose a plan that works for them, and that
the health-care team support their patients' weight-loss efforts and
provide appropriate monitoring of patients' health."
It also addresses the need for exercise and weight loss for all people
who put themselves at risk for diabetes:
"Being overweight and physically inactive both increase the risk of
type 2 diabetes, according to the ADA. Being overweight or obese also
make the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes more difficult. The
2008 recommendations state that all adults who are overweight and have
an additional risk factor for diabetes should be tested for diabetes
or pre-diabetes. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, people who have pre-diabetes can avoid diabetes if they
lose 7 percent of their body weight and get more than 150 minutes of
activity a week."
Good article, Robert. Thanks for posting it. Although the title of
the article is a bit misleading (not your fault) the information
contained in it drives home important points.
