I just soak 'em in a warm saturated solution of water and Epsom Salts.
After drying, I follow that with a rub of fresh Aloe Vera. Scales and
cracks gone. YMMV

I haven't tried the diabetic formula. I tried the regular crack cream on my
fingers. Did nothing for me. But then I learned that my cracks are
actually a medical condition called dishydrosis. Now that I know the cause,
I can better treat it.

I have dishydrosis, too. I wonder if that's a condition due to
diabetes? I am a Type 2 diabetic.

The essential oil Sandalwood (in a carrier oil, not neat, or it will burn!)
is great for dry, cracked skin.
Has anyone any comments on contraindications for aromatherapy oils and
diabetes??

The lotion my fiancé uses on my feet has tea tree oil. Works outstandingly
well.

Try a nce rich cream at night and then sleep with socks on or even a
petroleum jelly or even Bag Balm both of which stay on the skin and then
the socks over athin layer of the stuff for sleeping.

Some years ago I put cushioning in my boots and the cracking went away
and has never returned. I don't put anything on my feet. I still have my
diabetes, but no cracking.

put petroleum jelly (Vaseline) on your feet, then socks to keep the
petroleum jelly from staining your bedding
or use Lanolin (with socks as well)
the 2 cheapest solutions i know of

I've heard good things about mink oil.

I had that problem, Big toe cracked too. Painful. Feels like a nail in
your shoe all the time. The problem is dry skin. I use to put vasoline
and a big band aid on the crack and it would heal in a day. Trouble is
it kept reoccurring. All you have to do, what I do now, is put skin
lotion on your feet after every shower. I just use Aloe with cucumber
lotion. No more cracking. No more thick, dry, peeling and flaking skin.

How's your crack?
dsolo - 28 Nov 2007 00:53 GMT
shelly-
Always consult your physician first. But I've used "super glue" many
times to close cuts/ cracks with excellent results. "Better than
stitches"
A good read:

Hope this helps

The reason for that is super glue was initial developed as an alternative to
stitches.

Does this mean that guy hanging from his hard hat by the glue in all
thos old commercials used to have his hat stitched to his head?
I bet he was relieved when they came up with the glue.
