Hello friends,
Some of you may recall that last week I posted about the anti-hypertensive
effects of omega-3 fatty acids, based on some new and ongoing research. Well
it also appears that there is an anti-depressive effect associated with
omega-3 fatty acids, as well....
Here is a link to an article, based upon a report that appears in the July,
2007, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.... Unfortunately, a person has to be a
subscriber to access the article online, and it appears that a subscription
costs money.... So here is the next best thing... a link to a Yahoo health
article that discusses the findings.

Fish oil is good for one in so many ways. It's good for depression,
migraines, gum disease (anti-inflamatory), etc. etc.

I agree, Priscilla. Also, I think it is important that people realize
that there are other sources of Omega-3 than just fish oil, although
that can be a really convenient way to get it... Lately, I have been
getting mine from eggs of "happy chickens", in addition to fish oil
and flax seed oil...
One thing I have noticed lately, however, is that it could be
contraindicactd for people with conditions of congestive heart
failure, or angina....

I think that it is just that we are designed to eat fish, so when we don't
more things go wrong as we don't have some of the building blocks that our
bodies expect.

You can give your halo a rub :D
I was thinking about you this evening, and wondering if your new
lifestyle is paying off in weight loss. It sure sounds tasty and
healthy...

So far, so food. Crunch time will come when the season changes
and certain vegetables are not available - THEN what do I do ?
Early days but, I can guess that in say, 6 months my tolerance
levels will be thinner ...

Cool :D Move veggies. Recommend Jane Grigson's Vegetables book - she
wrote most of it whilst touring round your part of the world, and
whilst I don't always agree with her, she's great for ideas on some
strange knobbly thing I've never eaten before...
Or there's always the Internet Typing "recipe <veg>" into Google is
always good for a laugh.
Or your Indian friend. Eating your way around the low-carb areas of
Indian cuisine would keep you occupied for a winter or two : )
