Congratulations - great numbers. And how did you achieve
them?

Are you often 75 FBG?

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Thank you very much..i owe it to you all!

Thanks to my new routine i awake in the 80's...and if i dont eat like i did
the day i went to doc i can go low..which is why the doc said to drop the
meds as i see fit.

My secret is what you and others have said all along since i came here..eat
real food and test and excercise as much as i can.

My diet is delicious meals of all sorts of good foods but i know whats in
every bite.

As far as meds i still take 500 metformin and 5 mg glipi and lisiniprol and
a asprin in the morning but am going to see if i up the exercise a bit..if i
can drop the met totally or the glipi or both..
At night i take 2.5 mg glipi to wake with the lower fasting numbers.

I am just starting to feel good enough again since dx to work out and am
slowly going at it with light weights and the recumbant bike because if i
goto much to fast i liver dump and then crash hard.

Eating a snack pre workout seems to be helping.

Oh and i eat a snack before bed like some nuts or a protien shake or when
the moods hits strawberries whith real whip cream like i did last
night..lol.

Portion control is key for me but i admit it is a struggle as i have had a
wieghtlifters mindset for near 20 years now...but am learning to eat and
enjoy a single serving ice cream or a single pork chope instead of the plate
full i used to wolf down..lol

It may be possible to drop the meds, I can but it  makes it harder to keep
it under control. At first that was my goal. This kind of control becomes a
24/7 job that detracts from too much of my family life. Everything becomes
related to my diabetes. In some ways this can be a good thing as now the
whole family goes out twice a week to climb the mountain. Everybody benifits
from that but they have a life too. Its not all about me and diabetes.

I'm glad you said that. I feel that way too. That's why I'm very
grateful for this group, where a person can vent, talk about problems,
solutions, etc., without visiting it on every single person in your
life. Diabetes is not the only thing that ever happens to one. :-)

Eating less, down to the optimal amount is key to becoming healthier
(hungrier).

Be hungry... be healthy... be  happy... be blessed:
