Question about Freestyle Flash meter

I've been using it for the past few days, and it seems to be fine, but I do
have one question:

When you insert the test strip into the meter, and the image of the blood
drop and the two vertical lines appear (meaning the meter is ready for
testing) are these two icons (blood drop and vertical lines) supposed to be
on steadily or do they flash alternately?

I know it sounds almost ;nonsensical, but on my meter, they flash, and the
instructions say nothing about flashing icons.

(So call me anal...)

For an authoritative response to your question, why not call the
customer service number that's printed on the brochure that comes with
the meter? Those guys are available to answer your questions 24x7 and I
have found them to be very polite and helpful when I called with a
question.

Sorry I can' t help with the meter, but your final comment just make you
fit this group perfectly.  Obsessive is too mild a word for most of us,
but it oes keep our blood sugars down:-)

Thanks for those encouraging (I think) words.

I did check with customer care. My meter is fine.

Jay,
I have a Freestyle Freedom.  When I insert the strip,  it shows a number (to
match the bottle of test strips number...if not, you need to change the
code).  Then I see the blood drop in the upper left corner.  I think it
flashes.  I have about 2 minutes to get my sample.  I hold the strip to the
sample and it sucks it up.  Real small sample and only takes 5 seconds to
read.  I really like this meter alot.  I did call the customer service the
first day I had the meter, and they were very nice.
