I didn't see anything online, but have had two short (under 24 hour)
episodes of painless hematuria - no other symptoms.

Doc is away, will be back in a week.

This could be a symptom of a urinary tract infection.

You might want to go to a walk in clinic and be tested.. or there are
over the counter tests at the pharmacy made by AZO.

This symptom does not have to be related to diabetes.  There are several
other possibilities.

Thanks. Of course, as a diabetic my first thought is always kidneys.
Third episode today - lasted only a few hours and the urine is again
clear. A urinary tract infection is unlikely to be episodic. Lack of
pain probably rules out a stone. I suppose the highest probability is a
blood vessel, but it's not in the urethra since color doesn't change
between beginning and end of the stream. That makes it kidney, ureter,
or bladder. I'm unhappy about this, but will see my doc on Tuesday.

Too bad there's no significant correlation with diabetes, or someone
would say "most cases of this sort are ............"

Again - thanks!

In my case, at the early stages of a urinary tract infection, I can have
some blood one day, and not the next.  And yet I do have an infection.
In fact, that happened to me this week.

You might want to check, it's not that big a deal.

Jennifer, I haven't seen you posting for a small bit, so I want to wish
you a Happy New Year, and thank you for everything through the years.
Best to you. :-)

Hi Cheri...

I've been swamped with work, a giant new project that finishes up next
week!  That and the holidaze (I do a lot of entertaining this time of
year) has kept me busy.

Thanks for the good wishes... and all the same to you and yours!

Jennifer, I just know that you will take care of every project you have,
and I know that you are a great entertainer...I know that. I just want
to take a minute here in 2006  to tell you how much help you have been
to many of us. Let me just say this Jennifer...I wish that all the good
advice, the kindness, and advice...comes back to you one hundred times.
I am happy that your're here. :-)
