Awhile back you were encouraging me to try Splenda. Well, last week
when I went to Walmart for my monthly grocery shopping, I noticed
Walmart had its own version of Splenda at a much lower price. So I
thought that is like a sign that it is time to try it. And, instead of
buying a small portion for the trial, I bought a big bag like the
saving type of shopper I am! ;-)
When I tried Splenda a couple years ago at a friend's house, I
remembered she used an oddball type of coffee. So I figured that might
be why it tasted so bad to me. So I tried it in my own coffee. It is
not quite the same taste as sugar; but quite acceptable. I really
enjoy my coffee and don't want it messed up. So I was pleased.
Then I tried it in iced tea. and a funny thing happened. You are
supposed to measure it the same as sugar, which I did; but in tea it
is too sweet! So I have to use only half as much as I used sugar.
Maybe because tea isn't as bitter as coffee? Although I noticed the
spoon heaps up higher with fluffy sucralose than it does with sugar;
so that I may have gotten more in than I thought.
Anyway, thanks for encouraging me to try it.

Hey, Jolanna, I'm thrilled you found something you like for a sweetener,
but are you sure that was me who recommended it?? I hate the stuff; it
tastes like soap or metal or just ICK to me, though most folks find it
tastes like sugar to them.
How are things going otherwise? Weight, exercise, diet, etc? I
remember you were getting more into moving around and workin' it. :-)

Oh, I am so sorry! My imperfect memory flubbed up again! Well, whoever
it was, I am grateful. :-)
The way sucralose tastes to you is the way blueberries taste to me! I
wonder why that is?
I am not doing as many exercises as I was at first; but the therapist
did tell me every other day is fine. But I am feeling so much better
that I am more active in doing housework. So that is exercise of a
sort. And my house is a bit cleaner. ;-)
My diet has its ups and downs. But an apple at lunch curbs the
hungries between meals. I have noticed my stomach has shrunk. I am
full with smaller portions now.

Don't be sorry. I may well've recommended it. Just because I taste the
off taste doesn't mean others will.

Inherited trait, like tasting the bitter aftertaste of saccharine.

All to the good. :-)

Good going.
