Anybody taking both Byetta and Starlix? Is the consensus that Byetta and
Starlix together may be overkill?
I had an idea to use Starlix with any meals I did not inject Byetta before, like
meals away from home or that third meal not covered by an injection anyhow.

I am not on Byetta and, as I am not a doctor, can't give you any
definitive statements, but Starlix acts like a short acting sulf, pushing
insulin out of the beta cells. it can result in hypos. I am not sure but
I don't think betta causes them.
I would check with your doc beore trying this, as there could be
interactions none f us ae awre of unless others have actually tried that
combo.

I was using Novolog or Starlix, depending on the meal, before I started
Byetta. My doctor told me it was ok to still use the Novolog but not
Starlix. I didn't ask her why. I now use the Byetta most of the time but if
eating away from home I use the Novolog because it is much easier to travel
with.

Byetta is only supposed to be used twice a day.
