As one might expect, it is a front for paid advertisements.

If there are ads, then the person is trying to drive people to his site, so
he can make money. That tends to degrade the quality of information on the
site. Think about the low quality of information in American TV.

It also makes the information suspect.

G'day G'day Jeff,

The site replays conventional wisdom that could be found say on any
heart foundation site.  What's more they ALMOST get their facts right.
Don't expect ANYTHING new.

It is just a front for paid adverts.

Best wishes,

G'day G'day Alan et al,

Since Google has changed its prioritization to put blogs ahead of
user groups we are seeing far fewer posters looking for help. There
are people out there who figure that if they say anything that
attracts the attention of vulnerable people such as diabetics they can
make money from advertising.

It doesn't matter to them how absurd the message is.
"Diabetes isn't for ever" is OK for them.

The message content can be utterly trivial.  "Eat fruit and
vegetables, reduce saturated fat to below 7% of calories." so long as
it lures people in and generates hits on the advertising.

Most people deserve politeness. People who intend exploiting the
vulnerability of others without regard to their safety don't.

If someone else would like to take up the role of whacking the scum
till they froth a bit, that's fine with me.

Best wishes,
