For most of my life I have been nearsighted (I can see things close up but past
about 18" things tend to get hazey)  Ok I have type 2 diabetes and have been
geting my weight down and my BG has been getting better (normal morning
90-100) 2hour after eating 115-120) . But latlely after drinking a LOT of green
tea  and or drinking a lot of .....berry juice my vision seems to be a lot
better.

OK ! I know I should go in for a thorough eye exam but not this week, this week
I went to the dentest, for the first time in about 10years. Would glucoma tend
to make nearsight, nes  better.........   PLEASE  no lectures,

I was diagnosed with Cataracts two years ago...they are not big enough for
surgery....in fact they are very small...Although they are small one is
interfering with my left eye and makes things a little blurrier. Do you have
glaucoma? I do know when my blood sugar was high my eyesight would get
blurry. You really do need to go see your eye Doctor as there could be one
of many things that could be going on...and most is fixable:)
Congrats on your weight loss...I know it's not easy...I lost 100 lb and have
gained back thirty...getting it off was hard...but keeping it off is even
harder:)

Yes, you should have an eye exam but you know that.
Uncontrolled diabetics freequently become less nearsighted as their BGs
become more normal. An eye doc will be reluctant to prescribe new glasses
untill your BG is stable. He/she can however check you for diabetic
retinopathy and cataracts. Changes in eye pressure (glaucoma) are not going
to change your nearsightedness.

I can't imagine how your BG could be in that range if you are drinking a lot
of berry juice!

I'm no expert, but I think glaucoma causes tunnel vision.  Yes, you need to
go to the eye Dr.  But keep in mind that when you have diabetes, your vision
will change.  You don't say how long you've had diabetes for or how long
your BG has been stable.  If I were you, I'd wait until my BG has been
stable for about 3 months before seeing the eye Dr.  You wouldn't want to
get glasses that are the wrong presciption.  That happened to me!  I got the
glasses before I knew I had diabetes.  BG that is out of control can really
blur your vision.
