I understand your point, but I learned a long time ago that most people don't mean to offend. If I just ignore them without a brief, polite comment on *why* I am ignoring them, the behavior never changes. When a youngish slip of a thing, I got bashed over the head with a bible. Not the handy kind but a large hard backed version. Having survived the attack I now discover that I have an aversion to those that wield that book. In any form. Some of us have good enough eyes to distinguish between a book and a club. If you could distinguish between folks who read a book and folks who swing a club, you might find some of them have something worthwhile to say. Or you might not. Whether to give it a chance is your decision.
