The need and the technical level of people here  covers
a wide range.    I find it hard to select the
approach to many posts. and threads.

It used to be that most ore technical issues
went to MHD  and
the others oriented toward support were proper
for ASD.

The scene s so mixed today we just
give up and splash it out.

Anyone with some good ideas for a better
balance?.

I only respond to one site,  I think
this is enough for my bull. It is so easy to setup
where your responses go.

We can be thankful that so many are well versed
in the whole spectrum.  But still  we are so limited.

Do you have all of the answers?  Then show
us the cure.  We are a lot more knowledgable
than we were years ago.  Sometimes this
does add to some confusion.

Guy: Its complicated because we are a mixed group of 1) not yet
diabetic 2) T2s 3) T1s 4) other types of this heterogeneous disease.
Some suffer from other comorbidities, some are old some are young. Some
are more preoccupied with food some are thin and some are obese. Some
are more interested in figuring out their disease, others need support.
Some are feeling well others are not so well. Some welcome drug therapy
some resist it.

Larry, the charter for asd is VERY SPECIFIC that
this newsgroup is NOT to replace
Misc.health.diabetes.......... Jude checked with
Dr Reid who founded mhd to make sure he didn't
mind a support group being formed

over the years, more and more technical
information has been posted here when it belongs
on mhd NOT asd

we are the 'touchy feely group' and mhd is the
'technical answers group'

I remember seeing another diabetes group, but I didn't know that there was a
difference in the purpose of each.  Think I'll check out MHD, too.

That may be how things are supposed to be, but I've been reading both
groups for a couple of years and have found more good technical
information and discussion here than in mhd. What does seem to be the
case is that the technical discussions here are more closely focussed
on things which make a practical difference to a diabetic trying to
steer a safe course between Scylla and Charybdis.

Guy when I first started here I was at MHD.  I soon realized that there
was so much fighting there, that I had to get out of there,.  I found
this group and have stayed ever since.
