It does not take much to understand that any critter that produces
birth at an unfavorable time will be eliminated by the natural
factors.

We used to discuss why type1 diabetes was not
eliminated by the natural process

We must remember the recessive gene situation
that allows the propagation of a trait that would
be  normally eliminated..

So many questions as to the process that
had allow the situation in both
T! and T2.

T2 usually occurs in post breeding  times
but there is no good theory as to it's
increase unless the increase is a
definition thing.

There is not a case in my genetic train
of over 50 people  Mine is probably
a case of physical destruction.

This is a good area to discuss and
theorize for a while.

I doubt if diabetes arrived from Mars
on a meteorite.

Some one remembers.  I thought about
bringing it up but not enough
spammers now.

We used to discuss the many
alleged causes of diabetes

It has been around since the
Early Greek times.

I remember the PBS  Documentary
on the young  rich girl that had type1
before Insulin. Her father spent a
fortune on her but finally she died.

The Canadians crew did experiments on
dogs to prove the diabetes cause.  Then
using the pancreas from slaughter houses,.
managed to extract the item we call insulin.

It is only ten years older than I am.  They
though it was a final solution.  The
Banting story is interesting since
some controversy in the credit
for the project.

Wish PBS could be persuaded to rerun
some of he documentaries our area.

Nice to see you posting

I may have to revise my opinion of free
enterpriser  if this trend continues.

I bet Bill Gates will not be conned by
the free loaders.

The Hughes money seems to be
going the right way.

Years ago, I had met Charles
Kettering.at a local airport
in Dayton Ohio.  His fortune was
being used well  with  a Heart
Research  Unit in the Dayton area.
HIs name is on several good
facilities.

My relatives are probably are
planning another world vacation.

All types.

Guy, I am headed for Kettering, OH, later this morning.

We lived in Dayton for four years back in the mid 70's, living first in Huber Heights for one
year before moving to base housing.  I worked in Area B not long before we moved from there.
Later, in the 80's, my granddaughter moved to, and grew up in Beavercreek and Kettering,
graduating from Kettering in '99.

Have a marvelous day!

I spent about 20 years at UD.   I was at WPAFB
all over area B supporting the many projects there.

Moved on in 1971 and ended up in Houston.  Got
stuck here when diabetes developed and I had to
stay fixed  to preserve employment and insurance.
It s a small world,
My daughter still lives in Beavercreek and her
Husband is  a Principal in Greenview School
District at Jamestown.  I have little contact with them.

I still talk to Daytonians very often

I've been thinking about you the past couple of weeks as I've developed some foot and leg
problems.  Primarily, we are coming to the conclusion that is initiated by the connective tissue
diseases, but then worsened by the diabetes.  My feet and legs are grotesquely swollen, and I am
unable to wear any shoes.  The skin is so taunt that there are eruptions with water seeping out.
Last week the vessels beneath the skin began to break because of the pressure.  No amount of
diuretics affects them; that is one of the telling factors that it is not most likely
circulatory.  Got a clean bill of health on my heart, so that was good news especially
considering my heart history.  *s*  Today, we started treating the autoimmune stuff, starting
slowly until we're sure that is the cause for sure, but my anecdotal history tends to match what
is happening.

However.......... it is the eruptions in the skin, and their not healing that keeps me
concerned, and with thoughts of you.  At least my docs are on top of things, and want a report
in two weeks regardless of how things are, better or not.  There is always the open-door policy
that I can call at any time I am concerned with the progress, or lack thereof.  Jim went back
with me when we were there, and he, the doc, the np, and myself all sat and had us a little
pow-wow on all the possibilities of what might be going on.  Jim and I came away feeling
satisfied..... well, as satisfied as one can be when they cannot bend their ankles, nor wear any
shoes, and the top of their feet are red and purple from the broken vasculature beneath the
skin.

Thanks for the chance to vent; I know you can understand my anxiety over the situation; I want
to keep my feet.   :-/  We'll just see how the prescribed regimen will work out.

Have a marvelous day...... go check out that garden!  :-)
Billie

p.s.  I'm sorry you do not see your daughter very much.  We've had some rocky moments with our
children, but things seem to be smoothing out now that they are reaching middle aged, and have
experienced a few of life's challenging moments.  <vbg>

Wish I had something to offer.   I have had fungus and parasite
problems with the leg.  Osteomylitis  (bone infection) finally
destroyed one leg.   Amazingly the one that was the most
of the problem survived and after six years is almost normal.

I have worked on it all of the time.    I am still here causing
trouble.  We should have a wheelchair race sometime.

Diana  lives very near to where you are going.  Guess
I will never be there again.

I do know the frustration of our plight and you can vent all you want.
I will try to support people here  I am trying to make the group
with the support in a friendly way. Life is tough for
so many here.

I am sure you will find a lot of people here that will
be with you.  I think Diana still has my phone
number If  you ever need to talk  Mona is my wife
and is a great person.  I am the old bum..

I have had chronic problems for years  and am still here.

All I can say is to get the best Doc you can find.

So many here will be here to support you.

PS   My niece in Ohio has just been diagnosed with Lupus.

Nasty stuff. What happens in you lie on the floor or bed with your
legs up in the air, such as leaning them up against a wall? If doing
that for an hour or so resulted in some reduction of swelling, that
might help to take some of the damaging pressure off while other
remedies and diagnoses are pursued.
