So I can do this starting tomorrow. I guess
I will do 5 tests after the standard american diet
meal, (in addition to the FBG one in the morning),
at: 1/2 hour. 1 hour. 2 hours, 2 1/2 hours and 3 hours.
I saw that in one of my books.
Then I will repeat the procedure the next day. I hope
that's not too soon to get an accurate idea.
Now, what kind of starch to choose....hmm....this
is important since now I have to give them up.
Maybe I will have something Thai, something with
protein, veggies, and ....Ladna noodles. That's
my favorite starch of all.

The Ladna noodles sound like a good choice : ) With a non-fatty meal like
that, you can stop testing once your bg has returned to somewhere close to
your starting figure. Ah! You need a pre-meal test, unless you're planning
on noodles for breakfast? The 2 1/2 hr test is a bit overkill, you're likely
not going to be changing very fast by then.
Good luck. I never know what to wish people in your situation - but I guess
knowing the truth is pretty priceless, whatever it turns out to be.

you are testing 5 times after each meal?
how many meals will you be eating?
will you be eating inbetween those meals?
thats a lota pin holes.
i guess to each their own. i am glad things worked out the way they did for
me.

i would rather walk around the block a few times then give up my
whole grains.
the more food is proccessed the more of the good stuff it loses.
when im looking to eat healthy - its straight up whole grains, not bread or
processed noodles.
I am not saying dont eat your noodle.. just talking a little.

No, this is the first time I've done this ever. I'll do it
first thing in the morning, then eat the meal with noodles,
then start the major testing.
I'm already eating low carb now, so I have to go off
it for this test.
> how many meals will you be eating?
One like this per day for two days.

I already know I can't do whole grains. At least for the
time being. And yes I'm exercising.

Well it sure beats that 5 hour blood glucose tolerance test with
the nasty sugar drink.

FWIW - I've read that for most people BG seems to peak around 40-80
minutes after a meal. I would assume that might differ depending on the
particular type of meal, but after a few days of frequent testing you may
see a pattern here.

Cool! Knowledge is power, or at least extremely useful. ;-)
Just make yourself your own little "laboratory of me" and find some
stuff out. That's the way to go.
Good luck, and happy learning!
