Hi .....
My meter's Accu-chek Go and my software program is Compass. Now I think all
meters in Australia read glucose level in whole blood. This type of meter's
readings are 11% to 15% less than meters that read as plasma.
So it's not right to make any charts by meters reding whole blood.
I ask you have you any idea about this issue, and what are you doing??
Thank you

Ok, well I wasn't sure what they read so I rang Roche,
because I needed batteries anyway. I have the Accu-Chek
Active, according to the girl on the Accu-Chek hotline, it
reads whole blood.

For what it is worth, my A1c's (plasma) co-relate quite
accurately to my bg averages, according to a Plasma A1c
chart.  My last A1c was 4.7 and according to the plasma
chart I use that co-relates to an average of 5.0 mmol/L and
that's about where I am most of the time.

Hello, Saref and Ozgirl

Don't all home bg meters test whole blood only? Some of them then make an
internal adjustment of the result so that it is displayed as if it were a
plasma reading though it is not. At least that was so the last time I looked
into it. Things may have changed. There is that Swedish meter which has
extremely accurate and correct results. I saw a post about it here at some
point, and I think there is a review of the Professional version on David
Mendoza's site. That meter seems to be doing something different than the
rest. A little impractical because the strips need refrigeration...

But kind regards to you both,
rudy
