Was in here checking new posts today when I hit some wrong key in
Agent and suddenly all posts disappeared because Agent thought I had
marked them as "Read". Tried to recover them, but couldn't do it
without loading all messages since early February.

I have no idea what valuable, funny or argumentative posts I missed.

I invested in a new notebook Saturday and just getting used to it now.
After having used an ergonomic keyboard for  years this one feels
strange. I keep hitting unintended keys.

Yeah, I know, complain complain complain. Okay. I vented a bit.

The following information is given with the utmost respect
for the armed forces and civilians who have died in the
current war in Iraq. According to http://icasualties.org/oif/
The number of Americans killed in Iraq as of Mar. 28, 2006 is 2,325.
Americans wounded = more than 16,774
United Kingdom = 103
Other = 105
Iraqi deaths are probably in excess of 100,000.

Today, March 29, 2006
It has been 1062 days since Bush declared,
"Mission Accomplished in Iraq."

I got a new keyboard and am making tons of typos.  This one just isn't quite
the same.

I'm using an old version of Free Agent, but surely there must be
something similar in the full Agent program that lets you download a
more narrowly defined set of posts.

With the group I want highlighted in the reader section in Free Agent
I go to the top pull-down menus and select ONLINE.  Under that the
choice to make is SAMPLE HEADERS FROM SELECTED GROUPS.  From there you
may enter in either a date (everything since you-fill-in-the-date) or
a number (the last xxx messages).

Look for something similar in Agent.

I got a new notebook a few months.  It's my first notebook and I love
it!  I got it for its portability, but could not get used to the
keyboard and track thingy (don't know what it's called)

I ended up buying a wireless keyboard and mouse for use when my
notebook sits on my desk.  Couldn't be without them now.  VERY highly
recommend the investment for times when your notebook sits on a desk.

When I move away from my desk I plug in my trackball mouse.  Very
helpful.

I got a usb hub to plug into my laptop when it's (most of the time) on my
desk. I have my old keyboard, mouse, & printer plugged into the hub. When I
want to carry off the laptop, I just pull out the power cord & hub connector
& go -- but when at the desk it's just like the big ole tower pc w/ keyboard
& mouse on the pullout shelf under the desk, etc.
