If I haven't said thank you before, THANK YOU.
If I don't respond, it's because I have a hard time keeping up. Right
now I'm about 5 days behind -- this is an extremely active group. By
the time I see a thread, it has usually run it's full course and y'all
have moved on to other things. I only have limited time. Between a
full-time job, being a single mother, and working very diligently to
keep my BG down, I don't have much spare time in the day.
The main thing I've gotten from the group is to take charge of my own
progress. I've used what little information I've gotten from my
diabetes classes at the hospital (I'm very disappointed in the classes,
but that calls for another thread) as a starting point and then
modified it to reach my goals. The test, test, test advice is the MOST
important tool I've found in reaching that goal. I now have BG reading
mostly in the 90's and lower, with a few minor excursions over 100 when
I test a new food. I too practice portion control so that I am not
deprived of the food I like. I'm kind of a monster when I feel
deprived. LOL
Thanks to Sleepy, I can now walk 30 minutes twice daily relatively pain
free. He sent me a link to a website that helped me overcome the leg
pain. I am just a poor working slug in a state job with pretty crappy
insurance, but at least I have it. I can't afford to spend the big
bucks to get that kind of help.
So to you Loretta, and everyone else, a great big thank you for all the
information. We are out here listening and making use of what we can
even if we don't say thank you often enough.

Hi Wendy,

I agree. I am so thankful for everyone here, the pages they've put
together, the links they've shared, and also their posts--and I feel I
haven't said thank you enough.
I have really gotten myself turned around in many ways as a result of
coming here. I am eating healthy, I'm exercising everyday, I'm
drinking plenty of water, I'm sleeping better, and I'm completely off
diabetes drugs at the moment--and I'm symptom-free.
My schedule has been such that I haven't had much time to spend on the
computer in many months (other than working), so I haven't kept up with
the posts.
asd is absolutely the best resource I've ever found that focuses on
diabetes, bar none.
