This is the local newspaper report of some guy's theories I
spoke about in another thread.  His belief is that diabetes
is an allergy to sugar and carbs and could be controlled by
diet. he got the control part right - and for type 2's only,
but nothing in this article points out a difference between
1 and 2.

"He has experimented on himself for almost a decade,
prepared to overstep all medical guidelines without the use
of insulin or diabetic tablets."  His bg at dx was 54.1
(975) and was told he would require insulin for the rest of
his life.

He took his insulin for 30 days and has never taken insulin
again.

"Insulin does not help blood sugar control. Nobody in the
world should be on it".

"Diabetes should not be classed as a disease but should be
re-classified as an allergy. The rise of blood sugar can
easily be controlled with three good meals a day."

"It needs a very strict low carbohydrate diet, plus a little
exercise and constant checks on your blood sugar".

What he is experiencing is good control through diet - which
I can't argue with.  Doing a search on his name and book
(Les gardo, Diabetes No Needles) brought this up:

http://www.diabetesnoneedles.com/

I find it a confusing site.

No comment on when, but at least a decade ago...

I guess that's true from a certain POV.

Hmm....

Personally, I don't need to check much if I stay on plan.

The paper says he lives in an adjoining suburb to me, it
wouldn't be hard to actually meet this guy and have a
"chat". He has some good ideas and some scary ones. I would
like to sus out his feelings on type1's. One thing in the
article was his mention that normal bg's are between 4-8. 8
is quite high. That is an archaic range for diabetics to
stay within.

you want to meet him?  dang woman what is it about the mentally ill
that makes you want to meet them?

his web site is little more than a poorly designed search engine that
simply links to a large number of other people's work with a large
part of it being supplement scams and herbal quakery.
