Hi Zak,
I don't know a darned thing about pancreatis, except that it can
sometimes cause/lead to/result in Type 2 diabetes. I think there are
some folks who have posted here in the past who have been diagnosed
with it, and hopefully you will get some good info from them.
I did recall a poster who referenced another website specifically for
chronicpancreatitis suffers. I never went there, but FWIW the addy is
www.chronicpancreatitis.net
Anyway, I just wanted to say keep your chin up and educate yourself
about your disease, it'll serve you in the long run.
Best wishes,
Ricavito

Thanks Ricavito,
ive tried the addy but it seems that it no longer exists. ive suffered
the pain for well over 2 years and for the first year and a half it was
misdiagnosed and its onlyin the past few months that they have realised
its CP. so ive read up on al of what it is, but just managing the pain
and constantly on meds just does my nut in. lol

Sorry to hear that. My dad had pancreatitis and was very ill for the better
part of a year, but I believe he had the acute kind, and that's different.
Wish I could be of more help.

Presumably you have also dropped ALL alcohol? It took a
neighbour's husband three hospital visits with acute
pancreatitis to finally give up alcohol altogether. He spent
a week at a time on IV for nourishment to totally give his
pancreas a rest. Did your doctors do that for you? Are you
also only eat small meals but more often, instead of large
meals? Did the doctors discuss giving enzymes to help with
digestion? My daughter's boyfriend was stabbed in the
pancreas and he needs enzymes or is quite miserable with
"bowel" problems. I urge you to talk further to your doctors
as pancreatitis can lead to diabetes. You need lots of
professional help.

Hi there, thanks for the reply.. im in a similar position where i eat
small meals through out the day, i also have had the iv treatment
whilst spending 2 weeks in hospital, and have been given creon which i
believe is an enzyme to assist with digestion. thoug i have the
medication and seen the docs on a regular basis, the pain i suffer is
just terrible and had stopped me from working, or doing anything, as i
when i exert my body, just a small amout of work it triggers the onset
of an attack which then in turn leads to more calcium deposits in my
pancreas.. im on pain killers to control the pain and at the mo they
dont know what the cause is. so im hoping someone out there might have
a similar thing and share their secrets

I am sorry to hear that. I hope the doctors find out soon
how to relieve the pain and inflammation.
