I am taking Lip, i was on Zocor and my stomach always hurt, felt like
heart burn

I am 34 years old and in fairly good shape, I have a stent put in 2
years ago and there were no real reason why i had the blockage, my chol
was about 195 and I was active daily. Just a freak thing.

I hate taking meds, i dont want to take Lipitor and then hurt my liver.

But having a stent i worry about it being blocked faster there

Anyone ever take lipitor every other day? Instead of daily?

I hate meds! but rather take them every other day if its ok

Yeah,  my chlor was marginally high ( don't remember the number )
Since I'm diabetec, doc said to do 10 mg. Lipitor once per day.  The
numbers fell through the floor. Doc said to cut down the Lip.  10 was
the smallest size so he said cut the pills.  They didn't cut very well
so he said its ok to take em every other day which I've been doing for
the last five years or so.
I read food labels, and try to watch diet.
Best wishes YRMV.

That is a question for your doctor.

I was diagnosed with a blocked cardiac artery (100% blockage) about 9
years ago. At that time I was prescribed 10 mg of Lipitor per day.
Over the next several years my cholesterol levels dropped nicely.
During this time my wife and I normally had half a grapefruit for
breakfast when it was in season (about 9 month/year). When the reports
about the adverse effects of grapefruit and lipitor hit the press, I
asked my doctor about it. He said that the problem occurred when
someone drank large quantities of grapefruit juice and suggested that
I continue having my usual helf grapefruit for breakfast. A year or so
later he suggested that because of my good cholesterol readings that
we try reducing the lipitor dosage for a six month test to see the
effect of my cholesterol levels. As a result, I took lipitor on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings only for the next six months.
Since my reading were still good, I have continued taking 10 mg
lipitor tablets three days per week and having half a grapefruit and
two soft-boiled eggs for breakfast most mornings. My cholesterol
levels have been tested regularly over the past several years and
everytime my doctor says, "Whatever you're doing, keep it up!"

Of course, you should only make modifications to the amount of
medication you take and to your diet in consultation with your doctor.
However, taking lipitor three days per week works for me.

What are your lipid numbers (total, trigs, LDL, HDL) and
