I just posted a recipe for Dahi Vada (Dal Dumplings in Yogurt) on A.F. D.

I translating, converting, and testing several other Indian recipes this
weekend.

Hmmmmm, I'm usually with ya on trying new things, but donuts in yogurt?  lol

Could you exchange the milk for heavy cream or half n half ?

That would work well. The consistancy would just be a bit thicker. With
American style yogurt you might not need any milk or cream as it it already
thinner than the Indian version.
