G'day G'day TigerLily,

ASD is an interactive support group.  We take aim at an issue and
give it our best shot.  How do we know it was our best shot?  We don't
unless people give feedback. What I am looking for is the posts that
inspired.  The idea might sound corny at first but when I have been
away people cut and pasted previous posts. There will come a time when
I won't be here.  I'm putting my house in order if that makes sense to
any one.

When I read my saved posts I was amazed that I had expressed stuff so
well at times.  In time it will form part of the archive for useful
information for T2 diabetics.

Quentin, it is very hard to hear that you are putting your house in
order.  Unfortunately, the reality of our lives calls that all of us
should be having our houses in order.  I tell my daughter everyday where
all the papers are that she can go and just get them.

My mil who recently passed, told her daughter everything was in one
draw, but it wasnt .  It tooks weeks to go through all those papers and
find things.  We knew she had prepaid for her own funeral, but we
couldnt find the papers for it.  She thought she was prepared, but I
guess no one really ever is.

Well, maybe my mother did.

Have your house in order Quentin, but I hope it wont need another
cleaning for many years to come.

It is a reality of life.

G'day G'day Loretta,

In my case it represents progress.  Soon after the more recent
diagnosis went death seemed immanent was not the best time to put
things in order. It seemed almost like tempting fate.  I've gotten
past that and hope others have too.  I have a wife, children and
grandchildren.  The time I spend with them has become more precious.
Only by being part of their lives will I be part of their lives. We
sort financial counseling and received the following advise.

Deal with everything that would leave a legacy of resentment.

You have been through the mill.

Here is what I was told that made the essential decision making
easier.

I like that Deal statement.  It is very true.

Quentin, you have it so together.

That makes perfect sense, I have seen you doing it over the
past months. I think the things I learn most from you is
more in the finetuning dept. Like changing the colour of a
certain vegetable to obtain maximum benefit for example. A
small book on "coloured" foods would be great. Colourful
Food For Thought :)

G'day G'day

There is a book with a title similar to The Colour of Food which I
haven't read and another called Oracle based on ORAC scores which I
have.

I like the idea of "fine tuning" that fits with my general theme for
the book.  It isn't a do this and it will work for everyone book, it
is a book about how to improve your own diet.

google archives.

also if you are going to archive posts yourself, you should never
archive them in the news reader or email software's archive or my
documents folder.  You should always choose save as or save post as
and then select plain text as the format and then save them to a
specific folder on your hard drive that you created just for those
files.  and then every so often copy those files off the hard drive to
either a floppy disc/s or CD preferably a CD as they will last much
longer than a floppy will.  This will prevent you from losing those
files in the event of an upgrade failure or glitch, or a hard drive
failure.
