Ted,

Have you actually had an email conversation with this individual?  Did
you find anything that led you to believe this person is in fact a
diabetic and not just another one of the dozens of mad betty markle
sock puppets that have popped up?  They may have made the mistake of
buying into the hype and thinking they were actually doing us a favor.
But I am curious if you have actually had the email conversation this
person claims.

I'm not Ted, but if you do a search on her name, as I did, you'll see that
she posted anti-Aspartame stuff back in Nov.  It went over just as well as
it did now.  She did post some other things, mostly in OT threads.  I didn't
check those messages.  But I well remember her name and I remember tangling
with her before.

I'm always willing to give someone a chance.  But this one made a
claim about having had more than one email with Ted.  And I'm
interested in Ted's take on it.

No, she is just one of Betty's trolls - a little smoother than most, but
she is here to "informer" us.

The Gariian (as usual) is simply quoting one of it's favorite quacks -
wo has a long record of racist and quack publications.

Having lost timely access to USENET for awhile, I have just recently
been following these threads. I would like to let Ted, Mack, and Julie
know that I have "met" Judanne in some Yahoo Mail Groups for Transplant
recipients and donors, as well as the newsgroup bit.listserv.transplant.
Judanne is definetly not one of Betty's trolls, and I doubt seriously
whether she even knew who are what you were talking about when you
accused her of being one.

I don't think I have been considered a Betty or Murray supporter, so I
think I should be given some slack in my assessment here.

Was Judanne naive in posting something to this group about aspartame
that she got from the Guardian via an Australian news source? Probably.
However, I didn't know how unreliable a news source the Guardian is
myself until Ted and Beav pointed it out, except that the Guardian was
an unquestioning supporter of Marxist-Leninist organizations in the
1970's (long story on how I know that).

Judanne acquired prednisone induced Type 2 diabetes in the summer of
2005 after an altruistic, non-related, living donor kidney transplant in
Australia. She and her donor had a fight getting the transplant
approved, and they both received some press in Australia. Most
transplant boards do not believe in the concept of altruistic
transplants between unrelated donors and recipients due the suspicion
that money must be changing hands under the table. A billionaire in
Australia got one when his pilot and long time friend donated a kidney.

Since her initially high levels of immunosuppressants have been reduced
over time, her diabetes has become more under control. Maybe that is
what she meant by "all I need to know after six months" of reading the
group. Hell, if I wasn't carrying an extra 20 kg post-transplant maybe
my diabetes would be under better control than an A1c of 6.8 ;-)

Judanne's story was easily available through Google:

Okay.  Thanks for that.  I'll back off.  Sorry Judanne.  I'm just
hypersensitive over this whole Aspartame thing because an anti-aspartame
person once spammed my inbox so many times that I could no longer access it.
My ISP had to take control of my computer for two days so they could catch
him, and they prosecuted him.  I was not the only person this happened to.
I'm pretty sure he did this to Ted, and I'm not sure who all else.  But it
was several of us.

I find it hard to believe
She exhibits typical Aspartame troll behavior, and this is not the first
time she tried it !!

She has also been sending me posts accusing me of attacking another
person (who I had never heard of) in other newsgroups (which I have
never read).  Her friend who I supposedly attacked seems to be a troll
also, and looks suspiciously like one who was here under a different
name last year = pushing Stevia !
Judanne - 03 Mar 2006 14:17 GMT
No I didn't.  I asked him IF he was the same person.  And Rob Schuh is
certainly NOT my friend.  Get it right, Ted.

Here is the copy of the email I sent

Subject: Question for you

When I woke up this morning I remembered where I knew your name from.

Aren't you the same Ted (or Teddy as you were then) that used to have those
wonderful screaming matches on Usenet with Rob Schuh? Didn't you take him to
court? Didn't you lose?

If so, congratulations! You're the first person I ever kill filed twice.

You used to send me emails telling me ad nauseum your side of the story and
what a lovely chap you were and what a horror Rob was (he certainly wasn't
pleasant) and you just wouldn't stop. Now I understand your rabid character.
It certainly hasn't changed.

Does Betty know this, too, or are you convinced, now, that I am who I say I
am? I had the same name then, too.

I am glad the kidney transplant worked.  I am sorry she didn't learn
from the experience and still found it in her to wish a fellow
diabetic dead.

I hope the kidney continues to function for her so that she can at
least learn one lesson in life.

See below:

Oh dear Ted,

You are SUCH an angry man. That's not good for you.

I'd love to know what ":PPK a.shole" means but asking that would mean you'd have to write back again.

You said, "You didn't just "find" a newspaper article about a "study" by an infamous racist and fraud, and "happen " to bring your crap into our

Newsgroup"

You are correct. I didn't find it, it found me. It came into my inbox and I thought, "Ooh, that needs sharing". Why didn't you just tell me in the first place that you thought that the researcher was racist and a fraud and then direct me to some evidence to support your conviction?

You realise though, this means that the University that conducted the research is also by definition racist and fraudulent for supporting the research programme and if that's the case, I don't think I believe you on that one as they wouldn't risk their reputation in allowing the results to be published if it were so.

And you are also right as I didn't "happen" to bring it into our newsgroup, I chose to. I thought that sharing information was part of the group's function (something that you seem to be woefully inadequate about doing).

Now Ted, you've made it very clear that you don't agree with any information that casts any sort of doubt on Aspartame and that's your prerogative. But it is NOT your prerogative to abuse me (or anyone else) because I don't share your view. So just give your spleen a rest now and don't bother writing again because you obviously don't have an intelligent bone in your body and it's useless trying to talk any sense to you. (Translation: f.ck off and die)

take your frauds and go away

NO, our constitution does not allow "freedom of speech". Frauds like

you arn't covered.

We have freedom of POLITICAL speech, and even that has limits.

Go back to Betty fuckwit.

that pretty much sums up your character.

you received an email spam, and without verifying any of it's claims
you reposted it here as if it were 100% valid.  Then when brought to
task on it, you wished a known diabetic to die.

and you expect to be greeted with open arms and thanked for your
contribution to the group.

right.

you shot yourself in the foot on that one all by yourself.

<snip>

That's easy.  It stands for Phenylketonutrics.  This is a test done at birth
and those who have this know this from birth.  They can't have Phenylalinine
so for them, Aspartame is not something they can have.  There is a warning
on every can of diet soda that contains Aspartame.
