I went to the end this morning.  As soon as I saw him, I prepared me and
him for the worst.  I told him that I have had a lot of stress in the
last two months, more than you know, and that I was very very bad.  That
my comfort was food.

His reply to me was all my diabetics shoud be as bad as you are

I was indeed surprised by it all

Weight stayed the same,  that is a miracle

fbg 103
cholesterol  158
hdl 58
ldl 68
chd risk 2.7
tris up ten points to 160
homocysteine 6.91

drum roll and I think it is a mistake
5.4

although the numbers by themselves are great, there are increases and
decreases from the last test. but I am happy with these results.  I
thought my a1c was going to be over six.

My daughter can ;) You have no idea the flexibility of a
child with Down syndrome, lol. She could do more when
younger - when muscle tone was at its lowest. What she does
now at almost 10 freaks people out. Her hands and feet can
still do an almost 360 degree twist. When she is in certain
positions it's like she has no bones in her body.

Awsome, Loretta!

Your triglycerides going up are probably the marker of your forays
into stress related comfort food.  But all in all, your numbers are
very very nice!  Way to go.
Loretta Eisenberg - 25 Feb 2006 20:39 GMT
Laura, even with some raises in my numbers, I am very satisfied,  thanks

Yeah, but you sound like you've been having a really rough time recently -
sometimes not going backwards too far is a victory... Besides, if you've got
to pick one to get better, HDL's got to be the one : )

Loretta,

Those numbers are damn good for some one who has been dxed for a while.
We all know that keeping the devil at a distance is name of the game.
As much as you may feel not stepping up to the plate the numbers should
tell you that you have been diligent enough to not sway too far away
from your preset goals.

I would be dancing if I get those numbers 5 years from now!
So do celebrate now with healthy glass of spring water. Yes may can add
a few lemon drops in them! But don't forget to dance in joy!

Anil, that what a lovely post, thank you so much.  I was diagnosed in
November 1999 so that is six years.  I guess I am doing pretty good.

Naw, I am doing fabulously. hahahahaha
