Hi, I'm new to this group, but not to diabetes. My endo just changed
me to a very new insulin -Levemere (sp?) and rapid. My problem is with
the stupid and very crappy BG logbooks that I am given. They either
assume that I am working a 9-5 job and I am testing for more than just
BG levels. I am now and always have worked a night shift, so my
"breakfast" is NOT in the morning, etc. ALL I want is some way to
accurately input MY info and not have to play with "pigeonhole" info.
Does anyone have or know of a template for a logbook that I can
modify to show MY lifestyle, or even recommend a good, software for
inputting such info? I have Googled, but all I get are ads for VERY
expensive software "suites" for diabetes. I am willing to buy software,
but only if it meets MY needs. Thanks. ;-Deano

Just buy a small notebood at the store. Cheap, easy, you can make notes on
anything you want. You can have different info noted for different kinds of
days. You can draw arrows, explanation marks, put in "red notes", etc. It
won't draw a graph for you, but all the raw data will be there for any kind
of summary you want to concoct.
Anyway, it works for me -- I don't use insulin, but I do take meal-meds. I
note my food, meds, exercise, any important events, how I feel, injuries,
any other medical info, etc. to fill out the picture.
I don't remember how much my notebooks cost (the 5x8" size) -- I buy them in
batches at the office supply store. One will last 6-8 months (I write small
& get 2 days per page, mostly).

I am currently using the software for my ascensia breeze bg meter. You can
manually enter information or download using cable for meter. It gives a
very good print out of your stats. Check out the link below. I am using
the professional version.

The insulin pumper's website has several types of log sheets available
for printout.

Do you work graveyards? I did it for years (I'm a baker) and when I
switched to days, my insulin requirements dropped by about 15%.
Nightshift is hard on diabetics, but not working is even harder ;-).
When I was using preprinted logbooks, I found it easiest to just flip my
day and start my sheets when I got up at 6pm instead of 6am. I just had
to remind my endo that "breakfast" in my logbook was my 6:30pm meal...
