Yeah, looks OK. Into carb counting, but also:
" A blood sugar reading taken 1 1/2 to 2 hours after breakfast should
confirm that it doesn't matter what the source of carbohydrate is; it's the
total amount that counts. "

Some OK-looking articles on exercise, including safe scuba diving with
diabetes...

Their bookstore is pretty prominent, but I guess that's fair enough.

Nicky.

Maybe because the advice on the page
"Blunting After-Meal Glucose Spikes"
http://www.diabetesselfmanagement.com/article.cfm?sid=2&tid=42&aid=409&sk=9AAH
is all about medications and not about meals.

Or maybe it's because of the advice on self-testing starts
well by saying
"Blood glucose self-monitoring is key to managing diabetes,
because it tells you whether your blood glucose is in the
target range."
http://www.diabetesselfmanagement.com/article.cfm?SSL=n&SID=1&SK=9AAH&TID=42&AID
=323&page=3

But then it just follows the standard mantra of
"For meters that give results for whole blood, the ADA
recommends a target blood glucose range of 80 mg/dl to 120
mg/dl before meals. The target range after meals is 100
mg/dl to 180 mg/dl, and at bedtime it is 100 mg/dl to 140
mg/dl. For meters that give plasma readings, the ADA
recommends a target range of 90 mg/dl to 130 mg/dl before
meals, 110 mg/dl to 200 mg/dl after meals, and 110 mg/dl to
150 mg/dl at bedtime."

and

"You should check your blood glucose frequently at first,
until you have found the diet and exercise regimen that
keeps your blood sugar in target range. The times to check
your blood glucose are before eating, two hours after
eating, before exercising, 15 minutes after exercising, and
at bedtime, although you don't need to check at all of these
times every day."

Why weren't you told?
Because this is far more valuable:
