A practical nurse told me that a lot of our problems
come from "trying to eat our way out of misery.

Years ago a store owner told me he never hired diabetics
for customer contact.  They lost it too easily."

It's attitudes like these that cause some of us to make a secret of
our diabetes. (I don't care any more, since I'm retired. But it did
matter as long as I was working.)
