I was reading a magazine today (Woman's World?) and it said when you are
washing your whites to put in a cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.  It
said the lemons had a natural bleaching action that take out dinginess.

Thank you so much Julie.
I will remember that and give it a try.
I did use Heloise's mom's stain remover with the dishwasher detergent
powder, liquid bleach, and hot water soak for twenty minutes (our
washer has a cycle the does that and then spins the clothes). Then I
washed them with our regular detergent and a 1/3 C of Biz. They came
out whiter than I have ever seen them. OTOH, that much bleach can't be
good for the clothes. We also bought a box of Tide to use just for
whites so we can see how that does. The darned stuff sure is expensive
and a four pound box was the smallest they had at Wal Mart.

I think the trick with the cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice is going
to be resisting the temptation to make lemonade or mint juleps out of
it. LOL

The following information is given with the utmost respect
for the armed forces and civilians who have died in the
current war in Iraq. According to http://icasualties.org/oif/
The number of Americans killed in Iraq as of Jan. 30, 2006 is 2,242.
United Kingdom = 99
Other = 103
Iraqi deaths in excess of 30,000
according to President Bush - probably many more.
